Hodos Privacy Policy
Effective 24 July 2026
Hodos does not have user accounts, does not run a server, and does not collect analytics. Everything you create in the app stays on your device. The only data that leaves your device is what is strictly needed to answer a live request to the Luxembourg public transport data services, and it is never stored by us.

Data stored on your device
The following is saved locally on your iPhone and is never transmitted:
- Saved favourite routes and their reminder schedules
- Recent searches
- Trip history and the statistics derived from it
- Your home stop, if you set one
- Preferences such as walking radius and which transport modes to include
This data is removed when you delete the app. There is no backup on our side because there is no server on our side.
Location
Hodos requests access to your location to:
- Show public transport stops near you and their departures
- Plan a journey starting from where you are
- Provide walking directions to your departure platform
- Detect that you have reached your destination, so an active trip can be closed automatically
When you ask for nearby stops, your coordinates are sent to the Luxembourg public transport data service in order to answer that request. They are used to produce the result and are not retained by Hodos. Your location is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used to build a profile.
Background location access is used only while a trip is active, to detect arrival. You can revoke location access at any time in the iOS Settings app. The rest of the app continues to work without it.
Network services used
Hodos communicates with two external services, both operated by third parties:

These services are not operated by Hodos and have their own terms and privacy practices. All communication uses HTTPS.
Notifications
Notifications are generated locally on your device. Hodos does not use remote push notifications and does not operate a push server. Reminder and disruption alerts are scheduled by the app itself based on the routes you saved.
What Hodos does not do
- No user accounts, sign-in, or email collection
- No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or advertising software
- No third-party software development kits of any kind
- No tracking across apps or websites
- No sale or sharing of personal data
Children
Hodos is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children.
Your rights
Because Hodos stores your data only on your own device, you already have full control over it. You can clear the trip history and saved routes inside the app, and deleting the app removes everything. If you have a question about this policy, contact kid@akira-io.com.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the effective date above is updated and the revised version is published at the same address.
